Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find the effect of the dynamic lumbar stabilization exercise (DLSE) and passive stretching exercise (PSE) on functional activity in low back pain patients. The subject were consisted of twenty patients who had nonspecific subacute and chronic low back pain. All subjects randomly assigned to DLSE group (n=10) and PSE group (n=10). Subjects performed each exercise program for 4 weeks. The functional activity were measured with Oswestry disability questionnaire (ODQ) and Roland & Morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ) at pre and post. In ODQ test at after 4 weeks, DLSE group and PSE group had more significantly improved than pre exercise (p<0.05). In RMDQ test at after 4 weeks, DLSE group had more significantly improved than pre exercise (p<0.05). The results of this study showed that dynamic lumbar stabilization exercise and passive stretching exercise may be appropriate for improving functional ability in low back pain patients.
